Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SVIMS) proudly celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day on 22 June 2026 in the Seminar Hall with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, administrative staff and students. The programme was organised by the Cultural Committee with the global theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing", highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting lifelong health, emotional well-being and holistic living. The session was conducted by Prof. Ganapati Kattige, who guided participants through the Common Yoga Protocol including stretching exercises, yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation techniques. Participants learned the correct postures along with their health benefits and experienced the positive impact of yoga on physical fitness, concentration and stress management. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks and a pledge by all participants to incorporate yoga into their daily lives for a healthier and more balanced future.
The International Yoga Day celebration was a great success and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, administrative staff and students. The programme effectively promoted awareness regarding preventive healthcare, physical fitness and mental wellness. International Yoga Day Celebration 2026

Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SVIMS) and SVIMS Business School celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025 at Seminar Hall from 9.45 am to 10.30 am. Prof. Ganapati Kattige conducted yoga session for present teaching and non-teaching staff members. Tadasan, Vrikshasan, Vajrasan, Bhramari, Anulom Vilom and Surya Namaskar were performed by teaching and non-teaching staff members. Prof. Ganapati Kattige first explained each Asan properly to all present staff. Then all present teaching and non-teaching staff members performed Asanas along with Prof. Ganapati Kattige. Then International yoga day ended with om chanting by all present teaching and non-teaching staff members. All participants thanked Prof. Ganapati Kattige sir for conducting yoga on the eve of International Yoga Day.
