Report on “SVIMS Entrepreneurial Talk”

Event Overview: The “SVIMS Entrepreneurial Talk,” organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee, was successfully held on 26th March 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the Conference Room. Total 15 students participated, this engaging event brought together students who are actively involved in businesses, either as part of their family business or their own ventures. The objective of the session was to foster an environment of learning, networking, and support for entrepreneurial growth.
Participants and Discussions: The session provided a platform for students to share insights about their businesses. These entrepreneurs represented a wide variety of sectors, including brand building, imported shoes and bags, food stalls, vegetable stores, travel and tours, and financial literacy. The students discussed the challenges they face, their aspirations, and how the college can assist them in scaling their ventures.
They expressed a need for greater support from the college management in areas like mentorship, funding opportunities, networking, and resources to help them expand their businesses. Many students also highlighted the value of collaborating with peers who have diverse expertise, as they found strong resources within each other’s experiences and skill sets.

Moving forward, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee will consider the suggestions made by the students to enhance support for aspiring business owners and to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit within the college community.
