Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research & SVIMS Business School organised a one-day Seminar on “Opportunities in Financial Markets, Data & Analytics Management” on 10th September 2022 at the Seminar Hall. Session focused on Need for data, finance and financial markets. And how data is vital in the system. The programme started at 11.30am with the auspicious Saraswathi Vandana followed by the welcome address by Prof. Dr. Shakti Awasthi. The dignitaries on the dais were Mr. Ranjit Pawar (Guest of honour), Shree. Anant Banwasi and Dr. Purushottam Patil.

Opening address was given by Dr. Shakti Awasthi who gave us a brief introduction about the institute its values and culture, also spoke about data, and need for the same in VUCA times. Later Ms. Tanvi Patel from PGDM 1st year batch gave a brief introduction about the Guest Speaker Mr. Ranjit Pawar (Managing Director- South Asia at Refinitiv, London Stock Exchange Group) Felicitation of the Guest Speaker Mr. Ranjit Pawar was done by one of our trustees Shree. Anant Banwasi.

Mr. Ranjit Pawar gave lecture on financial opportunities available in the market, need for data, spoke several European standards for data privacy and much more. Session started with few basic questions on Finance. Some of major topics discussed were need for data, data analytics and about global markets. After the lecture, Mr. Ranjit Pawar conducted a Q&A session with our students wherein students raised their doubts, queries which were cleared efficiently by him. Lastly, Mr. Rohit Baddi student of PGDM first year batch proposed the Vote of Thanks which led to an end to the Seminar Session. The session was a well appreciated by one and all present on the occasion.
