Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research & SVIMS Business School organized a one-day Seminar on Investing Dynamics on 1st October, 2022 at the Seminar Hall. Around 100 students both MMS & PGDM, faculties, trustees were present in the entire session. Session focused on investments and diversification, discussion of different things related to asset management like dos and don’ts. The programme started at 11.00am with the welcome address given by Prof. Ganapti Kattige Sir. The dignitaries on the dais were Mr. Mr. Srikant Iyengar (Guest of honor), our Director Dr. Purshottam Patil (Director) and our Dean Dr. Vasumathy Hariharan.
Opening address and introduction of the seminar was given by Prof Ganapati Kattige Sir, who gave us a brief introduction about the Institute, its values and highlighted our students’ achievements in terms of Campus Placements. Later, Ms.Shakshi Dhengale from MMS 1st year batch gave a brief introduction about the Guest Speaker Mr. Srikant Iyyengar (Investor – Capital Markets,Venture Investing & Alternative Investments), his overall experience, achievements and expertise in the field of Equity Investments. Felicitation of the Guest Speaker Mr. Srikant Iyengar was done by our Director Dr. Purshottam Patil.
Mr. Srikant Iyengar gave a lecture on Investment Dynamics. Session started with a few basic questions on equity investments. He explained how the markets have grown and what are the expectations from the markets. Then he explained the key sectors that have grown in pre-pandemic, post-pandemic. Some of the major subtopics discussed were what is the base for technical analysis, how trend following approach is important, different types of predictive approach in investing.
After the lecture, Mr. Srikant Iyengar conducted a Q&A session with our students wherein students raised their doubts, queries about Asset management which was cleared very precisely by the Guest Speaker. Lastly, Mr. Hrithik Salve student of MMS first year batch proposed the Vote of Thanks which led to an end to the Seminar Session.
