Objective:
The objective of celebrating Shiv Swarajya Din was to instill a sense of pride, leadership, and
patriotism among students by remembering the visionary leadership and values of
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event aimed to educate students about the significance of
self-rule, cultural identity, and nation-building through historical perspective.
Event Summary:
On 6th June 2025, SVIMS College proudly celebrated Shiv Swarajya Din with great
enthusiasm and cultural spirit. The event saw the active participation of 15 MMS/PGDM
students, along with all faculty members and staff. The program was honoured by the
gracious presence of Dr. Purshottam Patil (Director) and Prof. Ganapati K. (Program Head).
The celebration began with an energetic and spirited performance of Shiv Garjana by the
students, echoing the valour and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This was followed by
a powerful and emotional Marathi poetry performance by Smita Karange Ma'am, which
captivated the audience and paid tribute to the great Maratha warrior.
A brief but meaningful speech was delivered by Prof. Murli Iyer explaining the historical
importance of Shiv Swarajya Din, reminding everyone of Shivaji Maharaj’s vision of a just
and self-reliant state based on the values of courage, justice, and good governance.
The entire faculty and staff stood together in unity, making the occasion a vibrant and
respectful tribute. The event concluded with a message encouraging students to embody
the leadership, integrity, and service values represented by Shivaji Maharaj.
