At the Sir M.Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SVIMS), affiliated with the University of Mumbai, the PhD program is committed to fostering scholarly excellence through a combination of comprehensive coursework, methodological rigor, and research-driven inquiry. SVIMS has been formally recognized as a Research Centre for the PhD in Management Studies by the University of Mumbai.

A minimum of three years and a maximum of six years after the admission date are allowed.
For entry into the program, the candidate has to clear the PhD Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the University of Mumbai or should have UGC-NET / JRF certificate in Management subject. Selected candidates will then be called for a Personal Interview which will be conducted by the Research Centre. On successful selection, as per the university PhD rules and regulations which will be processed accordingly as and when needed and maybe updated if required.
