Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research’s annual convocation was held on Saturday 08th February 2020. The venue was its very own NKES Auditorium Hall. The Chief Guest for the convocation was the Hon’ble Dr. Y.D. Venkatesh, Principal- St. Xavier’s College of Engineering. Also in the attendance were other dignitaries Dr. Purshottam Patil, Director- SVIMS, Dr. Vasumathy Hariharan, Dean Academics, SVIMS and NKES Trustees Mr. Parthasarthi Naik & Mr. Anant Banwasi.
This year a total of 48 students graduated. The convocation began with a majestic and grand academic procession followed by SaraswatiVandana. The Director in his report touched upon the infrastructure developments and highlighted the new developments taking place in the institute. He also emphasized on the institute completing a decade this year. The graduates were awarded with the certificates. The students and the audience were then enthralled by the rousing speech of the Chief Guest, Dr. Y.D. Venkatesh. He emphasized contributing back to the community being essential. In his brief and captivating address he inspired the graduates, students and faculty of the Institute.
After the Convocation Ceremony, SVIMSpire Alumni meet started with a bang. The alumni meet is conducted every year in order to reconnect with the Alumni and celebrate their success and various achievements. The Alumni started arriving in college by 05:00 pm and they were received by the registration team and were taken on the campus tour where they revisited the familiar place where they had studied and were shown the various developments that had taken place since then. A multimedia presentation, “Trip down memory lane….” followed which chronicled the journey of the alumni of SVIMS from 2010 to the present. Games were played with the Alumni and they shared their experience with the present batch of students. The event ended with the Vote of Thanks to all the dignitaries followed by the National Anthem.
